Rodeo

We went for breakfast with the kids and then they came over so we could head to the rodeo grounds.

There was some suck holing going on for the midway rides.

Then we were off.

It's the usual-Line up for tickets to get in(Free for us old folks)

Then line up again for midway tickets

Since I wasn't riding I checked out the cowgirls.

Then it was hit the midway

The kids came out of this one a little wobbly 

But soon they were off again

OK they are having fun 

So we head for the beer tent where an old friend is selling beer.

Then we hit the rodeo

It was a beautiful day and we did enjoy the entertainment

We had to because they claim we are in for like a weeks rain starting tomorrow.

But maybe they are wrong-They usually are!

Rainmaker Rodeo Weekend

The parents are home from Mexico so we are free again.

It's Over

That ends the long weekend.

It was pretty quiet for us.The kids spent the weekend at the river with Jodie and we did not do much.
Watched a little racing,did a couple of repairs,Got "Boy"s truck running that sat all winter.

The weather is improving but it's not summer yet.Maybe later this week.

We started exercising last week but that didn't last long.We must get back at it and we will.

Here it is another weekend approaching.

Who cares

Everyday is a weekend for us old folks.

We were over to Barry and Jan's for drinks and a BBQ earlier in the week when the sun shone.Now of course the sun has disappeared,never to be seen again.

I spent all day,Wednesday, washing the coach and then of course it rained wednesday night.Figures!

Thursday we moved into the Bennetts as they took off to Mexico for a week.Now the kids are going to the river with Jodie so we will be left alone anyway.

There is some racing to watch this weekend but other than that we have nothing planned yet

I did go car shopping yesterday but I don't know what to buy.There is so little choice when you have to tow it behind the coach.

Water

Twas another day to celebrate

We got the water turned on 

And I had an old buddy from my drag race days,Brian Morris, stop buy for a visit.Had a great visit and did a little catching up.

Just another day,or maybe not.

We celebrated our anniversary at The Taste of Tuscany and Wendy had us over for Mothers Day.

Today we might be celebration "The turning on of the water" day.They just may turn on the water today cause it's not supposed to go below freezing any more,or for at least a couple of months anyway.We do have water cause they haul it in for us but it will be nice to have the convenience of city water.It also means we can use the dishwasher and the washing machine to see if they are really fixed.
We shall see

It's Happy Anniversary to me and my better half!

Last night we went for a couple at the "Knot" then came home and harassed the neighbors for a while.We started out drinking outside but we had to move in as it was too dam cold.

Tonite we will celebrate at The Taste of Tuscany restaurant.

Well here it is Friday again.We get one every week,WoW!
Does that mean I get the next 2 days off?

Peg's been cleaning and sorting and shit and I've been trying to fix all the little shit that comes loose or breaks around here.Also been spending a lot of money.All our insurances and licenses and plates and crap comes due in May

And I bought beer.OMG Free health care my ass!
Stuff is expensive in this country

Yesterday the Kimball's dropped by for a couple but other than that it's been quiet around here.

Back to Normal?

Got the dishwasher and the washing machine fixed.Horray!

Went to the ophthalmologist for tests and yes I have cataracts and need surgery.Right eye scheduled for June and the left one for August if I go to Ft Saskatchewan.Very busy busy.
And of course there are options.Alta Health Care pays for the minimum but the better shit cost $.Should be good for a $2,000.00 hit.

               OK So we went to the gym today.Been a while.Lasted 45 minutes but it's a start.

Then we went to dinner with Jeff and Olivia at The Homefire Bar and Grill in Edmonton

I promised myself I would take pictures and I totally forgot.

What else is new.

Anyway we had a great visit  and Liv is growing like a bad weed,just like the other grand kids

Jeff has grown a little too(Must be trying to look like the old man??)

Just Lovely

  Friday we met Dale and Karen at The Celtic Knot for a few then picked up a pizza on the way home

Saturday Peg went shopping with "the girls" while I stayed home and fixed the faucet that was leaking.Then we met at Barry and Jan's for drinks and dinner.Awesome! It was good to see them again and get caught up with shit.

Then we drove home in the blinding snow

Why oh why did we come back here to this crap?

I think we have to hunt for a different place to spend May

Staying

I guess we will be staying a few days.Settled in to Kinsmen RV Park.

Stuff to get done before we head to Whitecourt

Got the phone,Canadian Satellite and the internet all up and running.
That was a half a day of frustration!

                             

We also returned our E readers which were toast and we have to wait for them to order in new ones.They say a week but we shall see.

Then we got to hit the new Costco in St Albert

That was costly as always

Then Wally's for a bunch more crap and I think the coach is full so no more shopping,except for beer of course.We are a little low on that staple.

We arrived here in St Albert yesterday about 3:30 and the temperature was 25C/77F

Of course the high on the weekend is supposed to be about 4C/35F and SNOW!
And below freezing at night.

Anyway we got cleaned up and headed for Wendy and Jane's "End of tax season party"

Wow! Just a few hours north and the temperature is dropping

We make it to Brigham City in Utah,

Just north of Salt Lake City

It's cold.

Yesterday we had to have the air on and tonite we will need the dam heater

This sucks the big one!

Time to Head North

Unfortunately the time has come to head north.

Yesterday we stocked up the fridge and made one last trip to the outlet mall.We hit the one in the south side this time.

Last night we went to Romanos Macaroni Grill for dinner then just sat around with Chris for the rest of the night.Got to beat the crack of noon.

What the Hell!

It Rained yesterday

We have not seen any precipitation since Christmas

I guess it's no big deal cause it only rained for a few minutes.However I just had the coach and the car washed.Figures!

Mike and Mandy dropped by to say good-bye as they were heading to Tucson and then on back home to Mexico.I guess we won't catch up to them till November.

Stopped at the Excalibur for a while and dumped some dough.

Then we went to Dick's Last Resort for some food and drink.

That place is always good for a laugh.

                     After that it was over to New York New York where we went to Zumanity.

              It was a good show and of course it was free cause we used our "My Vegas" points.



After the show it was more gambling and thanks to Peg we came out slightly ahead.

Downtown Vegas

We went back downtown where we met up with Mike and Mandy.

There at the Golden Nugget we found a poker tournament.Mandy and I made the final table but got no money.Chris didn't fare too well but Peg got some dough for 4th and Mike chopped for a split of the last 3.

I finally made some money on the slots  and Peg at poker so we came out ahead
